Nuno offers Persian santur and oud lessons, both in person and remotely. Picking up a strange instrument of which you have very limited knowledge can be daunting. Moreover, when the instrument belongs to a completely different musical tradition, such as those from the Middle East, the learning curve at an early stage can be a steep one.

Having felt and overcome such difficulties, Nuno has gathered extensive experience helping both established and newcomer musicians understand their new instruments, their challenges and how to overcome them.

His lessons follow a standard path but are adjusted to each student, so that he/she can learn to play and enjoy their instrument as fast as possible.

Besides instrument specific lessons, Nuno also offers introduction workshops for both oud and persian santur. These workshops focus on the instruments history, evolution, style according to its geography, its contemporary context, and relevant performers.

Introductory workshops on Turkish makam are also available; a technical workshop that describes and exemplifies all the fundamental concepts that form the structure of any given makam, to enable the student to understand its very unique musical language.
