Gambuzinos are a band dedicated to the original performance of medieval and renaissance musical pieces. We focus on creating an original stage performance as well as creative and entertaining street performances in historical recreational events. The name Gambuzinos is inspired by the mithological creatures that live hidden in the forests, extensively sought after but never caught!

The band was created by Carlos Abrunheiro in 2008 and has since underwent many changes until in 2010 the bands lineup expanded to 7 musicians. Within the project there is an ongoing work and research for new repertoire and captivating performance clothing, to represent different historial moments and diferent performance styles. Currently the band is comprised of 6 musicians and a repertoire of over 40 pieces.

The bands sound is created using a myriad of wind, string and percussion instruments, which come together to create original arrangements of historical musical pieces.
